HOLO Advance features a manual film-transport modules for 35mm film or for Medium Format film. Advance modules ensure smooth, precise transport through a soft cloth–lined channel that maintains tension, reduces dust, and protects the film. This makes them ideal for fast, reliable scanning of uncut rolls or individual strips.

Key features of the HOLO system
1. High-quality light source
HOLO includes the CineStill CS-LITE, a professional light panel engineered specifically for film scanning. With a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 95+ and brightness reaching EV 15+, it delivers exceptional color accuracy and perfectly even illumination for every frame.
2. Perfect masking and alignment by design
HOLO is built from high-density PLA and ABS components for maximum stability. Its functional design is created with one purpose - to always hold your camera perfectly parallel to the film plane while completely masking it from ambient light. In contrast to other setups, HOLO doesn’t need leveling, masking, or alignment. Ever.
3. Advance Film Transport Modules
HOLO Advance 35/120 uses manual film transport modules that allow smooth scanning of uncut film rolls and individual film strips. The film channel is lined with a soft fabric coating that provides consistent tension and protects the film from scratches. As the film moves through, the coating also helps remove dust particles and hairs, ensuring clean and consistent results.
4. Adjustable height
HOLO includes five spacers for height adjustment: 20 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm, 100 mm, and 150 mm. The spacers can be combined in any order to match the minimum focusing distance of your macro lens. HOLO supports lenses up to a 135 mm focal length when scanning the 6×9 format on a full-frame camera. Additional spacers are available upon request.
5. Compatible lenses
A lens mounts on top of the HOLO via the filter-thread connection. HOLO natively supports lenses with filter diameters of 77 mm, 72 mm, 67 mm, 62 mm, 58 mm, 55 mm, 52 mm, 49 mm, and 37 mm, ensuring compatibility with virtually any macro lens. A lens-lock mechanism keeps the setup stable, even when using heavier camera bodies.
