Hi, my name is Dmitry. I'm a photography enthusiast who loves shooting film. At my day job I develop imaging devices and optical sensors for medical diagnostics.

When I started to shoot film in early 2020, I tried many film scanning devices. None of them was easy and quick to use. So I built my first BlackBox out of a shoe box and a Pringles can, Three years and more than 100 scanned rolls later BlackBox evolved into a sophisticated device that made my scanning process as easy as I imagined it should be.

 

By providing the incredible film community with an easy-to-use setup for film scanning at an affordable price I want to support all photographers out here and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
