HOLO is a modular system that can be adapted to multiple film-scanning workflows through interchangeable film transport modules. These modules are designed to be easily swappable, while the rest of the system—including the light source, lens mount, and spacers—remains identical across all HOLO configurations.
 
When using a HOLO system with the Carrier Module, the film strip is held in the included film carrier, which is pushed through the channel of the Carrier Module. As the carrier is advanced, the film is scanned frame by frame. The Carrier Module includes two compatible film carriers: one for 35 mm film and one for Medium Format film. The Carrier Module connects to the HOLO base unit using two hand screws.
 
The Carrier module comes with
 - 35mm film carrier + 3 magnetic masks: S, L, X-pan
- medium format carrier + 3 magnetic masks: 6x7, 6x6, 6x4.5 
 
Carrier Module Advantages
Provides excellent film flatness
Allows inclusion of partial film borders (up to half of the sprocket holes for 35 mm film)
Can scan individually cut frames
 
Carrier Module Limitations
No built-in dust-cleaning features
Cannot scan uncut rolls or mounted slides
