HOLO is a modular system that can be adapted to multiple film-scanning workflows through interchangeable film transport modules. These modules are designed to be easily swappable, while the rest of the system—including the light source, lens mount, and spacers—remains identical across all HOLO configurations.
 
When using a HOLO system with the Advance MF Module, bare medium format film (120 type) is pushed through the film channel and scanned frame by frame. In contrast to the Carrier module, the film is advanced without the use of a dedicated carrier. The Advance MF Module features a soft coating inside the film channel that protects the film from scratches, removes dust, and provides gentle tension as the film slides through the channel. The Advance MF Module connects to the HOLO base unit using two hand screws.
 
The Advanced MF has a native 6x9 image window and includes 3 additional magnetic masks: 6x7, 6x6, and 6x4.5.
