HOLO is a modular system that can be adapted to multiple film-scanning workflows through interchangeable film transport modules. These modules are designed to be easily swappable, while the rest of the system—including the light source, lens mount, and spacers—remains identical across all HOLO configurations.
 
When using a HOLO system with the Advance 35 Module, bare 35mm film is pushed through the film channel and scanned frame by frame. In contrast to the Carrier module, the film is advanced without the use of a dedicated carrier. The Advance 35 Module features a soft coating inside the film channel that protects the film from scratches, removes dust, and provides gentle tension as the film slides through the channel. The Advance 35 Module connects to the HOLO base unit using two hand screws.
